The Puppeteer
Acrylic on Canvas
20x15 cm
When dealing with disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, the individual is often their own puppeteer. They control the external perception of their body, and what is reflected and cause the truth to be unperceivable whilst playing the role of the puppet master. However, as the disorder progresses, the role of the puppeteer is taken away from the individual by the body itself. Contrary to being a master of disguising physicality, hunger eventually corrodes the body. The body takes control as it mirrors all internal conflicts upon its physical cage. The once perceivable truth became unperceivable.
