Xina Yousfi is a Syrian visual artist based in Montréal, currently pursuing a BFA in Studio Arts at Concordia University. Working primarily across painting, drawing, installation, and writing, her practice investigates consciousness as an unstable, associative space—where bodily sensation, absurdity, perception, emotion, and thought continually reorganize one another. Her process is informed by rhizomatic thinking, allowing images, symbols, fragments, and psychological states to branch laterally rather than resolve into a single narrative. Music plays an important role in this process, often functioning as an engine for rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional momentum, while writing gives language to the conceptual and interior structures surrounding the work.

Alongside her studio practice, Xina is building a career with a strong focus on the MENA region. As a Syrian artist, she is interested in contributing to its expanding contemporary cultural landscape through work that is psychologically rigorous, visually experimental, and resistant to narrow expectations of what Arab art should look like or speak about. Her longer-term practice is oriented toward exhibitions, collaborations, interdisciplinary projects, and cultural work that connects Montréal with the Middle East.
